AI-generated code is reshaping how software gets made, but it comes with fresh security risks that organizations must address. More than half of surveyed firms regularly face security concerns tied to AI-written code, highlighting an emerging challenge in the software development world.

Endor Labs recognized this growing need and decided to steer its business in a new direction. While originally focused on safeguarding open source package dependencies, the company is now tackling issues specific to code produced and refined by AI tools.

Endor Labs Accelerates Growth

Their platform promises to go beyond just code review, offering the ability to detect vulnerabilities and propose targeted fixes that can be deployed automatically. Integrations for popular AI coding assistants like Cursor and GitHub Copilot enable real-time scans, flagging potential problems as engineers write code.

This strategic shift attracted major investor interest. Endor Labs has just secured a new ninety three million dollar funding round led by DFJ Growth, with key backers including Salesforce Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others.

Co-founder and CEO Varun Badhwar pointed out that this investment sets a much higher valuation for the company compared to its previous funding. Endor Labs has raised a total of one hundred sixty three million dollars to date, with plans to expand its platform and capitalize on soaring demand for secure coding solutions.

Looking at the company’s progress, Badhwar cited a thirty fold increase in annual recurring revenue since their last funding in twenty twenty three. According to Badhwar, this positions Endor to deliver significant results for clients, regardless of shifting economic conditions.

The company recently introduced a tool to pinpoint where AI models and services interact with a company’s codebase and assess these connections for risks. This provides greater clarity as AI-generated code security becomes more common in modern engineering workflows.

Currently, the platform protects more than five million applications and conducts over a million scans every week for leading companies such as OpenAI, Rubrik, Peloton, Snowflake, Egnyte, and Dropbox. Badhwar credits the company’s momentum in part to launching at the moment when interest in this technology was taking off.

DFJ Growth partner Ramin Sayar commented that developers are churning out large quantities of code with AI, often without enough oversight. He believes Endor Labs is elevating standards in application security while inspiring change in the industry.

With a workforce of one hundred thirty three employees split between offices in Palo Alto and Bangalore, Endor Labs is now positioned as a leader in safeguarding the future of AI-powered software.
