Google has introduced a premium subscription tier named Google AI Ultra, aiming to unify its advanced artificial intelligence offerings in one bundle. Announced during the company’s developer event in 2025, this service is geared toward users seeking state-of-the-art AI-powered tools and capabilities.
At a cost of 249.99 dollars per month, the plan features early access to Google’s Veo 3 video creation tool, the new Flow video editing platform, and the forthcoming Gemini 2.5 Pro Deep Think mode. Company executive Josh Woodward emphasized that AI Ultra is specifically tailored for those pursuing the forefront of AI advancements from Google.
Premium Features and Competitive Position
Currently available only in the United States, AI Ultra competes directly with other exclusive AI subscriptions on the market, such as ChatGPT Pro and Claude Max, both of which launched previously at similar price points. Google is hoping to differentiate its offering by including generous perks.
In addition to flagship tools like Flow, Veo 3, and the yet-to-launch Deep Think mode, the subscription offers expanded limits on NotebookLM and access to Whisk, a creative app for remixing images. Subscribers are also provided with the Gemini chatbot for Chrome, new AI tools powered by Project Mariner technology, and a significant storage upgrade of 30TB spread across Google Drive, Photos, and Gmail.
One highly anticipated addition, Agent Mode, is set to launch for desktop users shortly. This tool will assist with tasks such as web browsing, research, and streamlining workflows by connecting with a range of Google apps.
Alongside AI Ultra, Google is revamping its prior Google One AI Premium subscription, now called Google AI Pro. This refreshed plan bundles Flow, NotebookLM, and what was previously known as Gemini Advanced, all enhanced with improved features and higher usage limits.
Those enrolled in AI Pro gain early access to Flow and Gemini within Chrome, as well as real-time English and Spanish speech translation in Google Meet. This translation tool, also available to AI Ultra users, maintains the speaker’s voice, tone, and expression while rendering speech into the preferred language of the listener.
