Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Wednesday that the company’s AI features have reached one billion monthly users across its platforms. This significant achievement was shared during Meta’s annual gathering with shareholders.
Back in September 2024, Meta AI counted 500 million users per month. Its audience has doubled in less than a year, marking rapid growth for the company’s artificial intelligence initiatives.
Meta Plans Deeper Engagement
Zuckerberg outlined a vision for the future that leans heavily on refining Meta AI’s capabilities. The company is working to make its assistant more personal, focused on richer voice interaction and entertainment options that resonate with individual users.
Though monetization is not the immediate goal, Zuckerberg hinted at future revenue streams tied to the assistant. He mentioned that Meta could eventually introduce paid recommendations within the AI experience.
Another potential path is the introduction of a paid subscription service, giving users access to increased computing resources for their AI needs. Should such features launch, Meta would compete with existing AI chat products like ChatGPT.
The new user milestone closely follows Meta’s debut of a separate application dedicated entirely to its AI assistant. This standalone product reflects Meta’s intent to broaden the AI’s presence and usability beyond its core apps.
