  • Qatar Airways Cargo will debut Sama, its AI cabin crew, at Air Cargo Europe 2025 in Munich.
  • Sama automates bookings, shipment tracking, and answers freight questions for faster, smoother cargo service.
  • This move sets a tech standard, with Sama offering 24 hour support and live demos at the event.

Qatar Airways Cargo is preparing to launch Sama, an artificial intelligence powered digital cabin crew member, at the upcoming Air Cargo Europe 2025 trade fair in Munich. Sama represents a significant leap for the airline, marking the first time this advanced AI has been tailored for both passenger and cargo services.

The carrier originally introduced Sama to improve passenger bookings, inquiries, and support, where she quickly gained praise for her lifelike communication style and immediate assistance. Now, this technology is set to transform cargo operations, a sector where manual tasks and traditional customer service have long been the norm.

Sama will be used to handle cargo bookings, facilitate shipment tracking, and provide instant answers to a diverse range of freight questions. This brings faster responses and more efficiency to clients throughout global shipping chains.

AI Integration Brings New Efficiencies

Mark Drusch, who leads the cargo division at Qatar Airways, believes expanding Sama’s capabilities represents a renewed focus on digital progress within the company’s logistics network. He said Sama will play a critical role in optimizing the carrier’s services for both travelers and freight clients.

The move arrives as logistics firms worldwide face heightened expectations to upgrade digital processes, remove obstacles in service delivery, and create smoother customer journeys. By providing 24 hour support, Sama gives Qatar Airways Cargo a scalable way to assist with urgent or sensitive cargo needs wherever and whenever required.

Visitors to Air Cargo Europe, taking place from June second to fifth, will see Sama demonstrated at the carrier’s exhibit space. Here, live presentations will show how the AI interacts directly with logistics firms and shipping partners by way of fluid conversation and seamless automated systems on the back end.

This decision signals not only Qatar Airways Cargo’s status as an early technology adopter, but also points to a new future where artificial intelligence powered digital cabin crew can radically streamline cargo operations. With Sama, the airline is setting a fresh benchmark for tech driven, customer focused logistics.
