Samsung unveiled on Wednesday a new collaboration with Google Cloud, integrating Google’s advanced Gemini artificial intelligence into its domestic robot, Ballie. According to both companies, users will soon be able to communicate directly with Samsung Ballie, asking it various questions and having them seamlessly answered through the powerful Gemini platform.
Samsung plans to significantly enhance Ballie’s potential by utilizing Gemini’s sophisticated multimodal AI features. By merging its proprietary artificial intelligence capabilities with Google’s advanced technology, Samsung aims to transform Ballie into a highly responsive, intuitive companion capable of interpreting both audio and visual data inputs.
As an illustration of this capability, the companies highlighted a scenario in which a user could simply ask Ballie, “How do I look?” and receive practical fashion advice based on analysis from the robot’s camera. With this combination of visual recognition and intelligent feedback, Ballie promises a much more personalized and interactive user experience at home.
Besides fashion consultations, Ballie will provide valuable well being guidance, including tailored exercise routines and suggestions focused on enhancing sleep quality. Additionally, users will find Ballie useful for tackling broader inquiries, leveraging Google Gemini AI‘s extensive general knowledge resources for reliable and informative responses.
Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President overseeing Samsung’s visual display division, noted the significance of this integration in a recent statement. He emphasized that by fusing Gemini’s advanced multimodal reasoning with Samsung’s own artificial intelligence inside Ballie, both companies are pioneering a transformative role for AI technology within the home.
According to Kim, this partnership enables an unprecedented level of dynamic and meaningful interactions between humans and their domestic AI companions. The innovation allows Ballie not only to anticipate and accommodate customer needs but also to actively move with the user, defining a whole new standard for functionality and interaction in the realm of home robotics.
Samsung has been actively showcasing Ballie’s evolving prototypes at major tech events such as CES for multiple years. The firm previously announced plans early in 2025, signaling that the consumer version of Ballie would finally debut within the first half of the year in markets including the United States and South Korea.
Samsung’s relationship with Google dates back before Ballie, as they previously joined forces to incorporate the Gemini AI technology into Samsung’s flagship smartphone lineup, starting notably with the Galaxy S24. Recent reports suggest the companies are also jointly working on developing a groundbreaking XR device, a venture expected to prominently feature Gemini AI as integral to its user experience.
With Gemini’s advanced AI integration now confirmed within Ballie, Samsung continues its push toward advanced technology ecosystems built around intelligent, personalized interactions. As this promising partnership grows, consumers can look forward to enhanced interactivity and more sophisticated home solutions that emphasize user focused innovation and functionality.
