Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella has adopted a new approach to consuming information, especially when it comes to podcasts. Instead of traditional listening, he prefers uploading podcast transcripts to Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft’s artificial intelligence assistant, and engaging in conversations with it about the content during his commute.
This insight into Nadella’s daily routine was revealed in a recent profile that explored Microsoft’s growing emphasis on AI and its partnership dynamics with OpenAI. Nadella humorously defines his role as akin to an “email typist,” underscoring the degree to which he has integrated AI tools into his professional workflow.
AI Drives New Work Habits at Microsoft
Relying heavily on at least ten custom agents built through Copilot Studio, Nadella streamlines tasks such as summarizing communications, prepping for meetings, and managing office responsibilities. These personal AI assistants help him stay efficient and well-prepared throughout the day.
Microsoft’s broader embrace of AI is bringing about notable changes within the company. Recently, developers were most impacted by staff reductions shortly after Nadella highlighted that artificial intelligence is now responsible for nearly a third of all new company code.
