The smartphone world has a brand new contender that is boldly different from the usual suspects.
iKKO, a company best known for its high fidelity audio gear, has rolled out the MindOne Pro, a pint sized smartphone that feels more like an elegant gadget than a digital time sink.
The device measures less than nine millimeters thick and can nestle into the palm of your hand or disappear into a shirt pocket. Despite such a minuscule frame, MindOne Pro comes loaded with Android 15, a high resolution AMOLED screen just over four inches across, and a 50 megapixel Sony camera that pivots instantly for selfies or vlogging.
Its design puts simplicity front and center. Unlike most smartphones that drown you in notifications, MindOne Pro delivers a streamlined experience for those who want smart features without constant distraction.
Dual System with Global Tools
Where things get particularly interesting is the dual system setup powering the phone. Alongside a standard Android interface sits a purpose built AI driven environment built by iKKO. This special second system excels at real time translation, transcription, and voice to text documentation, and it’s said to outshine Google Lens in live translation speed and accuracy.
The crisp square display is shielded by sapphire glass, which is even tougher than what most flagships use. Every pixel on the AMOLED panel lights up on its own, so colors pop and the screen stays visible outdoors. While the official resolution is still under wraps, early glimpses suggest everything from text to photos looks sharp and vivid.
Photos and videos come courtesy of a single lens that remains flush until needed, flipping up for effortless front facing shots. Under the slim case you’ll find eight gigabytes of RAM and a healthy 256 gigabytes of storage, easily enough for both work and play.
One standout feature for travelers is the built-in NovaLink vSIM service, which provides global data in more than sixty countries without the need for a physical SIM card or Wi-Fi. For anyone who has ever scrambled for connection while abroad, this feels almost magical.
There’s also an old school nano SIM tray if you prefer a traditional setup. “You get the best of both worlds,” according to a spokesperson from the company.
For those who like a little more hardware, a magnetic SnapIn Expansion Case adds a QWERTY keyboard, headphone jack, digital audio converter, and extra battery without making the phone feel bulky. This add on brings a nostalgic touch for users who miss the tactile typing of the past.
The camera system boasts optical image stabilization and a wide aperture, making it promising for creative users who want quality without carrying something cumbersome.
Battery life appears impressive, with iKKO estimating sixteen hours of video can be played on a single charge. With the expansion case, expect even more.
Bluetooth handles wireless sound, while USB C does charging duty. Stereo speakers are built in and free standard shipping is promised in most regions.
For now, the MindOne Pro is available at a steeply discounted price through a crowdfunding campaign, with a choice of four colors and extra accessories tossed in for early backers.
Shoppers have only a short window left to lock in the lower price, as the campaign rapidly approaches its finale. For more insight into how AI is reshaping old-school businesses, read our related coverage.
