A bizarre video popped up on Truth Social this weekend, and it has everyone talking.
President Donald Trump shared an odd, doctored video of Barack Obama being handcuffed by FBI agents in the Oval Office, soundtracked by the Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.”.
As the clip begins, you see a montage of prominent Democrats like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, accompanied by their voices declaring that nobody stands above the law, all while the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme rings out. Then, as if scripted for shock value, the footage jumps to a computer-generated scene where Trump sits across from Obama. Suddenly, agents grab Obama, shove him to the floor, and slap on handcuffs as Trump grins in approval.
The strange video wraps up with another AI creation: Obama, in a bright orange jumpsuit, locked away behind bars.
Mockery in Memes and Political Fallout
Trump did not stop at videos. He also reposted a meme styled after a famous TV show, a grid of mugshots called “The Shady Bunch” that included Obama and several members from his Cabinet.
Obama’s camp offered no immediate reaction to these provocative images.
All this social media drama landed just after Tulsi Gabbard, who now serves as director of national intelligence, raised the stakes politically by warning that Obama-era officials could face prosecution. She claimed, “manufactured and politicized intelligence” led to a yearslong attempt to undermine Trump’s presidency.
Democrats in Congress voiced outrage over Gabbard’s statements, calling them groundless. Virginia Senator Mark Warner argued, “It is sadly not surprising that DNI Gabbard, who promised to depoliticize the intelligence community, is once again weaponizing her position to amplify the president’s election conspiracy theories.”
Representative Jim Himes blasted the accusations, saying Gabbard was “rehashing decade-old false claims about the Obama Administration.”
Investigations into the 2016 election interference, Himes pointed out, have all firmly supported the findings that Russia interfered and have cleared the intelligence community of any improper conduct, as seen in recent coverage on AI disinformation campaigns surge online as manipulation tactics evolve and analysis of mockery in memes and political fallout.
