  • Pinterest debuts auto collages, letting AI create lively, shoppable product collages for advertisers.
  • Gen Z favors the collage format, with these posts earning double the saves compared to standard pins.
  • New Trends tool offers brands sharper, real time insights into emerging user interests and behaviors.

Pinterest is taking a new leap with advertisers, rolling out a feature called AI-powered shoppable collages that aims to breathe fresh life into product catalogs while making everything shoppable from the get-go.

With auto collages, artificial intelligence does the heavy lifting. Brands can now take basic product images and watch AI arrange them into lively collages, grouping items by themes like outfit vibes, trending pieces, and user favorites.

Younger users, particularly Gen Z, have already shown a strong attraction to this format. Collages dominate Pinterest with tens of millions crafted by users hoping to express personal trends or showcase dream looks.

During initial runs, auto collages outperformed regular product pins. Users saved them at twice the average rate, signaling not just curiosity but real engagement.

The smart technology behind auto collages scans for user preferences, pairing similar items and building collections that make sense visually and stylistically. Sometimes the AI might expand on what already clicks, drawing in pieces that echo high performing user boards or echo the energy of the most saved posts.

Pinterest’s AI Creativity Push

Julie Towns, a top executive overseeing product marketing at Pinterest, described the tool as a major stride for brands wanting to keep content exciting and current, especially for a generation that thrives on creative visuals.

She revealed that inspiration for auto collages grew out of Pinterest’s Ads Labs, an innovation hub dedicated to dreaming up new creative solutions powered by artificial intelligence.

Alongside this update, Pinterest also lifted the curtain on a smarter Trends tool. With this, brands get a closer read on what shoppers are planning or interested in, thanks to deeper analytics into user behavior.

The Trends tool now offers sharper insight into not only what is being saved or purchased but also what shoppers are just starting to notice. For businesses, this unlocks the chance to react quickly as new interests bubble up.

By leveraging both these features, brands have the chance to keep pace with users who crave inspiration and fast finds. It marks a shift toward more dynamic shopping where visual search technology advancements feels easy and visual curation stays a step ahead.
